Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
Notes (notes.tecu.ch) is a private family chat app. This policy explains what we store, why we store it, and who can see it.
Who this service is for
Notes is not a public product. Access is limited to family members who sign in with Google or GitHub and are approved by a family administrator. Pending or revoked accounts cannot use chat, search, or integrations.
Information we collect
- Sign-in details from Google or GitHub: name, email address, and profile photo.
- Chat history you create in Notes, including topics, titles, prompts, and replies. Each account only sees its own conversations and search results.
- Your own sign-in records such as time, IP address, and browser, shown in your profile for account security.
- Optional integration credentials you add in your profile for Microsoft Graph / OneNote, Notion, or Evernote.
How we use this information
- To authenticate you and enforce admin approval.
- To generate replies with the Google Gemini API.
- To keep your chats so you can continue and search them later.
- To save a reply to a destination you choose (OneNote, Notion, or Evernote) using credentials you provided.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use family chats for advertising.
AI processing
Messages are sent to Google Gemini (AI Studio / Gemini API) in order to generate replies. Do not paste secrets, passwords, or information you would not want processed by that service. Model output can be wrong; review it before you rely on it or save it elsewhere.
Integrations and API credentials
Microsoft Graph, Notion, and Evernote are optional. You add those APIs in your profile. Tokens and client secrets are encrypted at rest and are not shown again in the app after they are saved. Notes stores only a non-secret label (for example an email or workspace name) so you can see that a connection exists.
When you save a note to a third-party service, that provider receives the content you chose to send and processes it under their own privacy terms.
Who can see your data
- You can see your own chats, search, categories, profile connections, and login history.
- Family administrators can approve or revoke access. They cannot view another person's chat history, categories, login history, or saved API secrets from the app.
- Hosting is on Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL) for this family project.
Retention
Your conversations stay until you delete them or an administrator removes your account. Encrypted integration credentials stay until you disconnect that provider. Your login history is kept for your own security review in profile.
Your choices
- Delete individual chats from the sidebar.
- Disconnect Microsoft, Notion, or Evernote from your profile.
- Edit or archive chat categories in your profile.
- Ask a family administrator to revoke or delete your access.
Contact
Questions about this policy can be raised with the family administrator who approved your Notes account.
